After dismantling the former data center there, H5 Data Centers has started construction on a new one in Ashburn, Virginia. This week, the company started building a 255,000-square-foot, three-story data center with a 42-megawatt capacity. The building is offered for pre-leasing at Loudoun County's Beaumeade Circle, with the first stage of construction scheduled to begin in Q3 2024. H5 operates over three million square feet of data center space across 20 US regions. Last year, it acquired the 505 Marquette carrier hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as seven Vxchnge data centers with a combined square footage of more than 250,000 across the US. It also submitted an application to update a data center in Cleveland. It bought a data center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and announced a 20,000 square foot, 3 Megawatt expansion at its Atlanta data center in 2021.

The company formerly ran a facility at 21800 Beaumeade Circle in Ashburn; it was purchased from DBT Data in 2015 and had 70,000 square feet. H5's website lists the same address for the new data center as the older facility but makes no mention of an existing building. An H5 representative has verified that the old building has been destroyed to make room for the new construction.
