Canberra Data Centres (CDC): Canberra DC Plans Expansion of its Auckland Campuses in New Zealand After Land Purchase

Canberra Data Centres has announced that it has bought more land in New Zealand. The company acquired the land in Hobsonville and Silverdale, Auckland. The plan is to expand its existing data center campuses in Auckland with the acquired land.
The Founder and CEO of CDC, Greg Boorer, said: “Silverdale and Hobsonville have been operational since August, and already we are increasing their combined capacity by 12MW. The demand here is strong for these state-of-the-art, highly secure, sovereign, sustainable facilities, and CDC has secured land in Tāmaki Makaurau, where we plan to further expand our Silverdale and Hobsonville campuses.”
The company did not reveal the details of the acquisition. It also did not reveal the timeline for the planned expansions. The two data center campuses located in Silverdale and Hobsonville have the capacity for 14MW each. These campuses were opened in August 2022. Canberra Data Centres currently operates 13 data centers across Sydney, Auckland, and Canberra.
