Edge Centres: Australia's Edge Centres acquires its local Edge rival DC Matrix

Australia-based edge data center firm Edge Centres has completed the acquisition of its rival DC Matrix. DC Matrix is a local edge data center company based in Queensland. DC Matrix planned to roll out six facilities in Queensland before the acquisition. The CEO of Edge Centres, Jonathan Eaves, announced the acquisition on LinkedIn. Edge Centres revealed that it took an interest in DC Matrix because of its mission statement, assets, leadership experience, and ethos. According to Edge Centres, DC Matrix’s assets are perfect for the company’s plans and priorities.
The transaction also sees Adam Johnson, DC Matrix’s Chief Digital Infrastructure Officer, join Edge Centres as its new Chief of Operations for Australia. Adam Johnson also commented on the development. He said it is amazing seeing two Australian companies coming together for a greater goal. He added that the acquisition would see Edge Centres double or triple its portfolio over the next couple of years.
