Aurum Equity Partners, an Indian investment firm, plans to establish a new fund to invest in data center facilities and other infrastructure. The newly-formed digital infrastructure real estate investor announced last week the launch of its $250 million global private equity fund, which will conclude in the first quarter of 2024.

Aurum has set aside $50 million to Hyderabad, Telangana, to develop cutting-edge data centers.' No information regarding the investment was disclosed. As technologies such as AI, IoT, Machine Learning, big data, blockchain technology, and cloud computing become widespread, data center developers are rethinking their offerings with a concentration on Edge computing, according to Venkat Bussa, founder and CEO of Aurum. This allows for secure and efficient data processing closer to end consumers. Aurum Equity Partners is uniquely positioned to capitalize on new possibilities and generate value for their shareholders, investors, and partners. The company stated that the new global fund would broaden its stakes in the United States, the Middle East and North Africa, and India.

Bussa was a partner at VU Venture Partners and VU Capital Partners before founding Aurum in 2016. Aurum Venture Partners, a business subsidiary, has pledged $5 million to support tech startups in Telangana. In Q1 2023, Aurum Venture Partners concluded a $50 million fund.
