Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of two new Local Zones, one in Perth Australia, and the other in Santiago, Chile.

In the announcement, the company outlined: “AWS Local Zones are now available in two new metro areas—Perth and Santiago. You can now use these Local Zones to deliver applications that require single-digit millisecond latency or local data processing.”

These additions are part of a wider project announced last year, in which the company outlined plans to launch its Local Zone rollout in 32 cities across 26 markets internationally. Twelve international Local Zones have now been launched outside the US.
