Amazon AWS: Amazon data center in store for Desoto?

Reports are circulating about Amazon's recent purchase of a 9-acre development site on Hampton Road south of Interstate 20 in DeSoto, southern Dallas County. This latest land acquisition has got people talking about whether the giant is planning another data center, considering its recent and significant expansion over the last couple of years.

For now, the company is keeping its plans quiet, with an Amazon Web Services representative commenting: "Amazon has a practice against commenting on our future roadmap." 

Already, Dallas-Fort Worth is a hotspot for data centers, and it looks as though it may be gearing up for the arrival of more facilities.
