: Alpha Federal to provide data center services to the US Geological Survey agency

Alpha Federal has won a contract valued at $20 million to deliver data center services to the US Geological Survey Agency. The contract is expected to run for five years. It also includes a one-year base period and four one-year options. Alpha Federal will be hosting the US Geological Survey Agency out of its DC1 data center, 15 minutes away from Yeager International Airport, Charleston.

Alpha Federal is a small data center veteran-owned data center. The business previously belonged to Union Carbide data center. However, Alpha acquired it in 2012. The data center is situated on a 7,400 square meter site.
