Telecommunication firm Airtel has opened a new data center in the Lekki area of Lagos, Nigeria. The data center is called TIA 942, and it is Tier III certified. Airtel says it will be providing clod and hosting services from the facility for government and business. However, the company did not reveal specific details of the facility.
The director of Airtel Business, Airtel Nigeria, Ogo Ofomata, said the company is inspiring and breaking ground on a new wave of facilities in the Nigerian market. She said Airtel would be offering affordable services to small and medium scale businesses, as well as large enterprises. Ofomota finally added that businesses in Lagos would have access to uninterrupted power and hyper-secure storage for data transmission equipment and servers through Airtel’s data center.
