Feb 15, 2022 | Posted by MadalineDunn

Acronis has announced that it has launched its first cloud data center in Lagos, Nigeria. This move is part of a larger expansion plan that will see the company grow with the deployment of 111 new centers. It is also part of its Acronis Global/Local Initiative. This initiative reportedly includes global management, geographic redundancy and control for local partners, as well as a local disaster recovery site.

Speaking about the effect the company’s expansion will have, Chidi Oliseowe, Team Lead, Madonna Systems Nigeria Limited, emphasized the world depends on data, outlining that this dependence is “to the point where we can say data is life,” and as such “data security cannot be over emphasised.” He added: “With the opening of their new Data Centre in Nigeria, Acronis demonstrates its level of commitment to the Africa Market.”

Globally, Acronis has a portfolio of more than 40 data centers, and spanning from Europe to Asia and US to Africa, Acronis has already opened cloud data centers worldwide intending to continue its expansion.

There are 18 data centers in Nigeria.
