Stulz, an air conditioning specialist this week announced the launch of a new coolant management and distribution unit  called CyberCool CMU which was designed to maximize heat exchange efficiency in liquid cooling solutions.

Comprising water pumps, plate heat exchangers, water valves, and controllers, the new CMU isolates the facility's water system (FWS) and technology cooling system (TCS) elements of a liquid cooling system to maximize heat exchange. Stulz said this also reduces the risk of cross-contamination and leaks, improving reliability.

“The rapid advancement of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) has led to a massive increase in data center rack and server power density,’ said Joerg Desler, global director for technology at STULZ. “CPUs and GPUs are expected to exceed 1,000W per processor or higher in the next few years. These processing requirements are placing tremendous demands on data center cooling systems, and where liquid cooling was once an option, it is rapidly becoming essential.”
