redIT, a subsidiary of American Tower Corporation, is a telecommunication operator and developer of wireless communication solutions with presence in the United States, Mexico and other strategic countries in LATAM, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
reIT History
1996
RedIT started operations under the name of Metronet that operated a public telecommunications and fiber-optic network in the main cities of Mexico. Offering last mile solutions and being a carrier of carrier in Mexico.
2001
Added Xertix in Monterrey as a new Managed Services business.
2002
- Expanded coverage in Monterrey and Guadalajara
- Launched Ethernet and DWDM products
2008
Went public with Initial Public Offering on the Mexican stock Exchange.
2009
- Received the ISO 9000, 20000, and 27001 certifications, strengthening the administrative and operational processes of the company.
- Acquired Diveo Internet de México, a company with an infrastructure and portfolio of clients in Mexico
- We invest in San Diego CA. in Castle Access, for delivery of connectivity and value-added services in the United States.
2010
- Expanded internationally with the purchase of Castle Access, a company with 2 technological campuses in San Diego, CA. All the companies of the group were integrated into the brand redIT.
2011
Built our metropolitan network in Tijuana, B.C.
Added operations with two nodes in Tijuana.
2014
- We launched DataPark, a technology campus located in Tultitlán, where carriers and content providers strengthen their connectivity with customers from different technology segments.
- KIO Networks acquires redIT in October.
2017
- American Tower acquired KIO Networks. At the time of closing, KIO Networks’ held more than 50,000 concrete poles and approximately 2,100 route miles of fiber, primarily located in Mexico’s key urban centers. The transaction was approximately $500 million
- Expanded the network to 8 new cities in Mexico.
