According to BizJournal, Netrality has applied to the Shawnee City Council for $36 million in federally taxable private activity revenue bonds. Bizjournal says Netrality plans to use the bonds to finance construction materials, equipment, fixtures, and labor for the renovation of 7801 Nieman Road. Netrality previously bought the warehouse and office building at the same address.

Earlier in September, during a Shawnee City Council meeting, the master resolution for the project voted 6-0 for issuing Federally Taxable Activity Revenue Bonds in $36.2 million. The council also met 8th of November to approve the bonds. Netrality currently owns and operates a data center in Kansas City. The 156,117 square feet facility is at 1102 Grand Blvd. Worthy of note is that Netrality hasn’t officially announced its plans for a new data center in Kansas. According to BizJournal, the company did not respond when quizzed.
