US-based Real estate firm Hines has raised $650m for a new fund targeting properties including data centers within the United States. The firm is also targeting industrial, multifamily, and other property types. Fund manager Adriana de Alcantara was quoted to have said the firm wants to invest in niche sectors like data centers, life sciences, and self-storage.

Hines will start its investment ‘spree’ by purchasing a multifamily property in Austin, Texas, for $100m. Although Hines hasn’t been very active in the data center scene, it will be interesting to see which data center property it will acquire in the next few months.
