Amazon in negotiations to build data center in Ceará, Brazil

Amazon has announced that it is in negotiations with officials in Ceará, Brazil, to build a data center and a logistics warehouse in Maracanaú, in the region of Fortaleza.

According to Diario do Nordeste, it is expected that an agreement with the state government will be closed in the second half of 2021. That said, discussions have been ongoing since 2019, and the state has already offered the tech company a formal proposal for tax benefits.

It has been reported that work on the distribution center is already underway, and Amazon is already looking to hire workers for the location.
