Teraco announces completion of its JB3 data center on Isando campus, Johannesburg

African data center firm Teraco has announced its third data center on its Isando campus in Johannesburg. The facility named JB3 has 480,000 square feet of building structure, with 130,000 square feet of data hall space. It also has a capacity of 29MW. With this added capacity, Teraco’s capacity on the Isando campus is now 40MW. Aside from that, the Company revealed that the facility can still be expanded if needed.

CEO of Teraco, Jan Hnizdo, revealed that the new facility would help the Company meet the demands of its customers in South Africa and Africa as a whole. He also added that the investment is also in line with the Company’s promise to the South African Government’s investment drive on investing billions of Rands in the Country’s digital infrastructure.

Teraco has also begun construction on its JB4 facility. The facility is also poised to be the largest data center in South Africa when it gets completed in Q1 2022.
