Digital Edge: EDGE1: Indonet’s Edge DC opens first data center in Jakarta, Indonesia

Indonet’s subsidiary PT Ekagrata Data Gemilang (Edge DC) has opened its new data center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The new facility called EDGE1 is a five-story building with 6MW of capacity. It is also capable of accommodating 1,300 racks. PT Ekagrata says it has leased over half of the facility. 

CEO of Edge DC, Stephanus Oscar: “EDGE1 is our stepping stone in pioneering the edge data center in Indonesia with the aim to create a highly connected ecosystem close to the end-users and support the next generation of digital businesses in Indonesia.” He further added that the company is committed to building state-of-the-art data centers in Jakarta with a goal to develop more than 40MW of IT load capacity. 

Edge DC also revealed that it partnered with PT DCI Indonesia Tbk. The partnership will see Edge DC adopt PT DCI’s platform in terms of operational standards and infrastructure design.
