Equinix Sydney SY5: Equinix completes expansion of its SY5 data center in Sydney

Equinix has completed the expansion of its SY5 data center in Sydney. The expansion cost the Company $48 million (AU$66 million). Equinix started the expansion in February. Moreover, Equinix has added a total colocation space of 11,300 square meters (121,000 square feet) with this expansion. It also added 2,150 more cabinets to the site’s existing 1,825 cabinets. Equinix also revealed that the facility could accommodate 9,200 cabinets upon full buildout, making it the largest Equinix IBX facility in Australia.

MD at Equinix Australia, Guy Danskine, said the expansion of the SY5 facility shows the Company’s commitment to improving business ecosystems with more capacity. He also pointed that this will help the Company’s customers to unleash their digital potential through interconnection.
