El Salvador: Codisa to develop a 3.5MW data center in El Salvador

Costa Rican firm Codisa has begun construction on a new data center in El Salvador. The IT firm will partner with real estate firm Aristos Group to develop the data center. The facility will have a total capacity of 3.5MW, and it will house 322 racks. The facility is named DataTrust and it is located in the Altius Tech Park in Ciudad Arce, La Libertad. According to the two firms, they will be investing up to $30 million in the development of the facility. The data center is scheduled to come online in Q4 2022.

The DataTrust data center will be the first colocation facility in El Salvador to be certified by Uptime. The General Manager of Codisa, Diego Cardoza, also revealed that it would be the largest data center in the country. The Altius park will house a data center and eight office buildings totaling 495,000 square feet (46,000 square meters) of leasable area. In addition, a solar farm at the technology park will power all the buildings on the site.
