EdgeConnex has announced that it has deployed Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect 100Gbps capability at its Portland data center. The Company has been an AWS Partner Network since 2016. It has now expanded its connection options from 1Gbps and 10Gbps to 100Gbps. The expansion will enable high availability and lower latency access to the biggest and intensive applications like blockchain, augmented reality, the internet of things, virtual reality, etc.

The access to 100Gbps ports will help improve cost, performance, and security in the Portland Edge Data Center. It will also help enable the most data-heavy functions and workloads to be implemented and managed efficiently. Anton Radlein, General Manager of AWS Direct Connect, said deploying the 100Gbps at the EdgeConnex facility is critical to help customers build data-heavy applications with better reliability, scalability, and flexibility.
