AUBix Auburn: AUBix LLC to build 40,000 sq ft data center in Auburn, Alabama

AUBix LLC, a new Company, has broken ground on its new data center in Auburn, Alabama. The firm says it will build a $120 million, 40,000 square foot facility on Samford Avenue, close to Auburn University’s campus. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in Q1 of 2022.

The facility will have 22,000 square feet of available data center space. It will also offer over 3MW of critical power capacity with redundant cooling and power. AUBix’s new facility can also be expanded to 100,000 square feet of space and 12+MW. Aside from that, the facility will have conference rooms, customer office space, and tenant equipment storage.

It was also revealed that the Alabama Power Company would be providing the data center with critical power. CEO of AUBix, Andrew Albrecht, says the Company’s goal is to provide its customers with a secure and reliable infrastructure for hosting internet applications locally. He added that, with this development, Alabama would see an inflow of new businesses and support of academic research and initiatives at all levels.
